Chosen for Woodlands HS Art Trust consideration 2022

The collection not only exposes students, faculty and visitors

to artwork on a daily basis but also strives to enrich curriculum in areas such as language arts and social studies. Over the past years several area elementary schools have brought their students to our school to experience our collection through tours lead by our high school students.

The Woodlands High School Art Trust (TWHSAT) a 501(c)3 organization, was established in 2011 to help maintain, conserve and display the student-selected, student-purchased collection of established artists at  The Woodlands High School. The vision for the TWHS Art Trust is to see the art collection grow each year  and to have it extend through the hallways of the high school.

Students use funds from their Homecoming Dance to purchase the art works.

TWHSAT fundraises for the preservation and permanent display of the art works.

Old Bakery and Emporium Gallery's virtual February Exhibit is Beauty - is in the Eye of the Beholder by the Paint Pals Sofia Besondy, Jennifer Polnaszek, Martha Paisley Ruth and Carol Sue Witt.

What is “beauty”? What may be attractive for some may not be for others. The definition of beauty is a combination of qualities that please the intellect and moral sense. Artists’ aesthetic senses are conveyed through painting styles which arouse a reaction in viewers. Do our paintings call to you? Does a painting have to be deemed “beautiful” to be alluring? Please check out our virtual online show and see each artist's take on beauty!
